On Thursday 24 November, former Year 11 Highfield pupils gathered at the Village Hotel, Blackpool to bid a final farewell to their classmates and teachers, and to celebrate the presentation of their GCSE certificates. It was a special evening in the hotel’s largest suite, which was filled with former pupils, families and staff from Highfield Leadership Academy, adding a sense of nostalgia to the event.

The guest speaker was Jeffrey Meadows, a Highfield alumnus who is now the President of the Blackpool South Rotary Club and a highly respected member of the local community. Mr Meadows was delighted to be a part of the ceremony and extended his congratulations to the pupils involved: “It is fantastic to see so many young people here for this momentous occasion. Well done to all of the special award winners.”

Former Head Girl, Leah Calvert, opened the evening with a beautiful rendition of “With You” from ‘Ghost the Musical,’ showcasing the talents of Highfield pupils and setting the tone for the rest of the event.

Lynette Norris, Principal of Highfield Leadership Academy, said:
“Well done to all the award winners and pupils who received their GCSE certificates. It was wonderful to see you all again and we wish you the very best of luck for the future.”
