Pupils channelled their inner Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood to raise £80 for Children in Need with a bake sale of tasty treats.

Pupils from across the school got into the Great British Bake Off spirit by baking their own yummy bites to raise money for the charity. Members of the Highfield Helpers group and Senior Prefects, who have been working together to plan and deliver the school’s fundraising for Children in Need, manned the cake stall. The fundraising team also gained valuable experience of motivating others by ensuring all the school’s year groups were primed to make donations and keep the fundraising momentum going throughout the day.

Executive Principal, Helen McKenzie OBE said:

“Raising £80 for Children in Need is a great achievement which will contribute to the charity’s outstanding work with the most vulnerable children. I am extremely proud of all our pupils who organised the cake sale, donated cakes and supported the event.”

Year 9 pupil Maria Preda said:

“When we looked into supporting Children in Need, we realised there are young people who are not as blessed as us, so it was a fantastic chance to help them. We were very happy to see our friends giving money to charity. I hope we can make a difference to the lives of children that are less fortunate.”
