Highfield’s Shakespeare ambassadors Daniel, Katie and Jess recently hosted a visit from an actor with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Part of the RSC Associate Schools Programme, these GCSE Drama pupils are working with the RSC to promote Shakespeare across the Academy. In February they attended a workshop day with ambassadors from other schools and academies involved in the RSC’s programme, and have since worked with primary school pupils.
Katie said:
“I enjoyed listening to how the other children interpreted Shakespeare’s play The Tempest.”
Daniel commented:
“I loved how involved every group was – both primary and secondary pupils.”
And Jess added:
“It was a good opportunity to expand our learning about Shakespeare.”
