Pupils from Years 9 and 10 travelled to France and Belguim recently for our History department’s First World War Battlefields visit. Over the four day trip pupils visited the Menin Gate in Ypres, the Thiepval Memorial, WW1 dressing stations and many more interesting sites associated with the First World War.

The visit was designed to give a deep understanding of modern warfare, with the First World War being such an important event in world history and in shaping the modern world. The visit proved to be both educational and very enjoyable.

Two pupils were selected to lay a wreath at the Menin Gate in Ypres on behalf of the school.
