Highfield community come together to enjoy the first Highfield Leadership Academy Parent, Teacher and Friends Association Christmas Fayre!

The Highfield community made a head start on their Christmas shopping at the Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) Christmas Fayre on Friday 9th December 2016 at Highfield Leadership Academy. With a range of stalls including crafts, jewellery, toys, books, festive food and cards there was something for everyone.

Parents of pupils in the academy formed the PTFA at the start of 2016 and the Fayre was their first large scale event to raise funds that will be used to enhance the opportunities for the pupils in the academy.

The academy provided a lovely setting for the event, with pupil performances, festive refreshments, and the opportunity to meet Santa himself in his very own Highfield grotto!

The principal Mrs Norris commented on the “amazing achievement” by the fledgling PTFA in putting on such a wonderful event that saw hundreds of community members visit the academy. The Chair of Governors, Paul Fearnley and members of the Governing body also helped out at the event. Mr Fearnley later gave his thanks to the PTFA for their “continued support of Highfield” and for “helping to improve the academy’s relationship with the local community” many of whom took to social media to thank the PTFA for such a lovely evening.

The academy are very grateful to the PTFA committee, Donna Jones, Sarah Towle and Louise Graham and PTFA members who devoted much of their own time to plan the event in support of developing the academy community and enhancing opportunities for our pupils. We would also like to thank all the stallholders, pupils, staff and community who attended the evening for helping make it a great success.
