Highfield Leadership Academy did World Book Day in style this year with classrooms of witches, wizards, pirates and more – and that was just the teachers!
Mrs Beever made a fine Queen of Hearts, we loved Mrs Benson as Where’s Wally?, and we even had our very own Ghostbuster in the shape of Mr Harwood!
A variety of reading activities took place across the Academy throughout the day, including a lunch break storytime session in the library. ‘The Mystery Reader’ competition challenged pupils to spot the staff hiding behind their favourite reads.
And each lesson began with a starter activity which saw pupils spend 10 minutes reading an extract of their teachers’ favourite childhood books.
